Teletherapy is the newest addition to the field of speech-language pathology.  We provide online therapy sessions using a secure videoconferencing platform. It is an efficient and creative way to provide speech therapy to clients who are underserved or unable to attend therapy in a traditional clinic setting.

Teletherapy Works!

• Convenient: Speech therapy services can be provided to rural areas or to those outside our speech therapists’ travel area.
• Flexible: Perfect for the busy and overscheduled family, teletherapy can serve more clients during high volume times such as after school.
• Safe: Speech therapy is provided from the comfort of a client’s own home limiting direct contact. Teletherapy is an option designed with keeping social distancing in mind. 
• Effective:  The American  Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) approved this method of  service delivery in 2005. Many school districts have used teletherapy to  help better serve their students. 

Creative Approaches to SLP Therapy 

HTR Pediatric Therapy uses interactive play as a fun way to keep kids engaged so they look forward to their speech therapy sessions. For example, our creative therapists use educational online games, YouTube videos, and puppets as a sensory, language, and behavioral tool that takes kids on fun adventures during speech therapy. 

Equipment needed includes: a computer or iPad, webcam, headset or ear buds, and an internet connection.

Parents must be present at the start of the session and may be asked to help facilitate parts of the session.
